For the seventh year, CSforALL is excited to announce the opening of the 2023 CSforALL Call for Commitments for all types of organizations around the globe. CSforALL welcomes all stakeholders (nonprofits, corporations, school districts, universities, and more) to make CSforALL Commitments — which are new, specific, and measurable actions taken by organizations in support of achieving the ultimate goal of computer science education for ALL students.

Last year at the CSforALL Summit in Memphis, CSforALL was proud to announce that since 2017, we have collected over a thousand Commitments, 1,122 to be exact, from 472 individual organizations across the globe. Impressively, 76% of those 472 organizations have been engaged in our Commitment Model over numerous years. CSforALL Commitments vary from student-networking opportunities to building APP competitions, computer science courses, coding lessons, electronic devices, and more!

Organizations that are interested in submitting a 2023 CSforALL Commitment have the creative opportunity to partner with other organizations; launch new initiatives; set new goals for ongoing projects; and be nationally recognized for their work towards making high-quality computer science an integral part of the education experience for ALL students.

What’s a Commitment?

#CSforALL commitments are new, specific, and measurable actions aimed at advancing the goal of rigorous and inclusive computer science education for all US youth, and are designed to grow support and momentum for a sustainable K-12 computer science education system in and out of school.

Making a commitment gives organizations an opportunity to announce a new CS effort on a national stage which can be leveraged to bring new partners to the table, increase impact, and grow the footprint of engaged stakeholders.

The 2023 CSforALL Commitment Categories:

As in previous years, organizations have the ability to submit one or more commitments in the categories of raise awareness; build capacity; increase equitable access and outcomes; and/or racial equity.

We welcome commitments in the following four categories:

  1. Raise Awareness: This category commits organizations to generate attention around computer science education through new partnerships, digital campaigns, organizing fundraising or educational events, building shared resources and messages that will result in increased CS education interest, knowledge, and/or action from local individuals and communities.
  2. Build Capacity: This category commits organizations to build financial or infrastructure resources for high-quality computer science education implementation in local communities for K-12 students.
  3. Increase Equitable Access & Outcomes: This category commits organizations to building systems where every student has the same opportunities and resources for a computer science education resulting in a stronger and more robust STEM talent pipeline.
  4. Racial Equity: This category commits organizations to address structural racism and injustice that excludes communities of color from technology education opportunities and career pathways.
