For Immediate Response

For the seventh year, CSforALL will be hosting the national Computer Science for ALL conference in Oakland, California with local partner and CSforALL Member, Kapor Center.

The CSforALL team is enthusiastic to partner with the Kapor Center to bring this year’s Summit to the vibrant city of Oakland. The CS education community will experience the uniqueness, vibrant culture, and diversity of the city while exploring a three-day computer science education conference focused on equity,” Camie Belgrave, Senior Director, Programs and Partnerships, CSforALL.

Join us October 25–27, 2023 to share, learn and celebrate the #CSforALL movement. With our Oakland partner, Kapor Center, we’re looking forward to high-level conversations with national thought leaders highlighting strategies for equity in computer science education, removing barriers to access, building meaningful engagement for all students, and exploring ways to Strengthen the Movement through Equity.

“In order to truly build a more equitable tech sector, economy, and society, access to equitable and culturally responsive, computer science education for all is a necessity,” said Allison Scott, CEO of the Kapor Foundation. “Students from all backgrounds and communities — but particularly those who have been excluded from the opportunity to pursue CS — must be provided the tools and support to pursue technology-related careers and participate in our global economy. We are thrilled to be joined by such incredible partners in the effort to ensure the next generation will have access to transformative CS education.”

This year’s theme is Strengthen the CS Movement through Equity. It is crucial that we strengthen the #CSforALL movement by focusing on closing the education equity gaps. To achieve the ALL goal, we must strengthen the technology educational opportunities and access for students by reimagining and improving the education system with support and resources. Only then, no matter what a student’s background, each student will have access to a robust computer science education and career pathways.
