After two long years of waiting, CSforALL is excited to announce and bring the CSforALL Community to Memphis with the support of our local partner, CodeCrew, for the 2022 CSforALL Summit on October 19–21, 2022.

Memphis, Tennessee

2022 Summit Background:

For the sixth year, CSforALL is delighted to announce that the 2022 CSforALL Summit will be hosted in historic and musical Memphis, Tennessee. We’re excited to bring the CSforALL Summit and CS education community to the southern home of the blues, soul, rock-n-roll music, and barbecue.

The national K-12 computer science education community will come together for a three-day convening October 19–21, 2022 to share, learn and celebrate the #CSforALL movement. With our Memphis partner CodeCrew, we’re looking forward to high-level conversations with national thought leaders highlighting strategies for equity, removing barriers to access, and building meaningful engagement for all students.

2022 Summit Theme: Game Changers in CS

This year’s theme for the CSforALL Summit is Game Changers in CS. As the CSforALL Community adjusts to the new normal, we explore the question of what idea, policy, event, or individual could significantly shift the movement forward to ensure that computer science becomes an equitable, integral, and sustainable part of the K-12 experience for all students.

Summit Local Partner:

CSforALL is proud to announce CodeCrew as our local partner for the 2022 Summit! CodeCrew is a Memphis-based nonprofit tech organization that empowers youth and adults from underrepresented communities to be tech innovators and producers through practical, hands-on computer science education and training.

This isn’t CSforALL’s and CodeCrew’s first time engaging in a partnership, CSforALL member, CodeCrew, initially partnered for the 2020 Summit, however, due to the global pandemic Covid-19 the national event was postponed until further notice. Together, we pivoted and held a 90-minute virtual event that showcased the hundreds of CSforALL Commitments made that year. The 2020 CSforALL Showcase live-streamed to over 5,000 individuals and 16 countries. Check out the 2020 CSforALL Showcase!

Additionally, in 2021, CSforALL and CodeCrew were awarded $999,160 to build capacity in computer science K-12 pathways throughout the state of Tennessee, working in collaboration with the evaluation team at CSEdResearch.org. The project will leverage the Strategic CSforALL Resource and Implementation Planning Tool (SCRIPT) to create opportunities for local facilitator training; provide ongoing support; and added capacity to almost half of the school districts for the state. And finally, after two long years of waiting, CSforALL is confident in bringing the CSforALL Community to Memphis with the support of our local partner, CodeCrew!

“CodeCrew is elated to have the 2022 CSforALL Summit in Memphis,” said Meka Egwuekwe, CodeCrew Executive Director. “With so much positive news of increased access to computer science education across Tennessee, Memphis is the perfect place to highlight and celebrate the reach and impact of CS locally and nationally.”

Live Streaming & Video Recordings Options:

We understand that not everyone is comfortable and/or able to join us in Memphis, CSforALL wants to give individuals an equal opportunity to watch and/or listen to the 2022 Summit. As in previous years, CSforALL will live stream the main stage. Additionally, the CSforALL team will share the recordings of the main stage and breakout sessions on the CSforALL Vimeo page within 30 days of the event.

Sponsorship Opportunities:

At CSforALL, we recognize that the national convening couldn’t happen without the support of individuals and organizations. CSforALL Summit Sponsorship provides robust and customizable sponsorship and/or exhibit opportunities for the local community of Memphis and nationally. For more information about getting the greatest impact and visibility leading up to, throughout, and following the 2022 CSforALL Summit in Memphis, please contact Megan Hildebrand at Summit@CSforALL.org.

2022 CSforALL Commitments:

For the sixth year, CSforALL will open up the Call for 2022 Commitments to Computer Science for ALL during the first week of April. Stay tuned for the announcement!

CSforALL commitments are new, specific, and measurable actions aimed at advancing the goal of rigorous and inclusive computer science education for all US youth, and are designed to grow support and momentum for a sustainable K-12 computer science education system in and out of school.

Making a commitment gives organizations an opportunity to announce a new CS effort on a national stage which can be leveraged to bring new partners to the table, increase impact, and grow the footprint of engaged stakeholders.

Health & Safety Updates:

At CSforALL, the health and safety of our community is our top priority. We understand that there are heightened concerns surrounding conference attendance and COVID-19. We will continue to carefully monitor the situation with COVID-19, and the impact it is having on health and safety, travel, and public events.

We will work with the conference hotels and local destinations to ensure all attendees are safe and healthy when attending the conference. The CSforALL Summit page will be updated frequently to ensure attendees have the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the 2022 in-person CSforALL conference and our health and safety plans.
